Oh, sucker of dust mites, dog hair, mold spores And dried cat barf--please rescue me from deep And vile obscenity that clogs my pores, Distracts me from my purpose, spoils my sleep And adds insult to injured dignity… Beseeching you is now my sole recourse! Forgive me for my mean delinquency! Unwind your hose! Exert extracting force To render my abode endurable! Twenty years ago I received a birthday gift from a close college buddy-slash-sometime lover (What on earth were we thinking?). Back then, our past was already in the past and twenty-four was already not young. Hello. On Wednesday, really early in the morning, I had a dentist appointment. A few hours later, I was home, hungry, and wanted to make ramen noodles. I will write out what happened in the form of a story. This is what happened: The water was finally boiling, so I could now put the hard, uncooked noodles into the pot. After I got the noodles in the pot, I took the packet of seasoning, opened it, and dumped it into the boiling water and noodles. I realized I should probably turn the heat down just a bit, and I did, but it was still hot enough to keep the water boiling. I set the timer for three minutes, pressed start, and begun to stan
